How to Allow Users to Delete Their Account Data in Magento 2

A client came to us to implement a General Data Protection Regulation – or GDPR on their e-commerce webstore. One of her problems was that there is no way for a user to delete their account from the Magento profile page. This was one of the GDPR requirements.

I was tasked by my team leader to find a way to solve this problem.

So as I went on my way searching the web for ways to do this. I came across a free GDPR extension from Mageplaza, which allows customers to delete their account information on the frontend as you can see in the image below.

Using Mageplaza GDPR, customers are allowed to permanently remove their accounts along with all related personal data.
